Ebrima
My name is Ebrima Nyassi, a born citizen, of Jambanjelly the Gambia.
I am your contact person of your sponsored children for our foundation Children´s fund – the Gambia.Let me first tell you something about my background.
Till my retirement, I was working for the Gambian National Army as an administrative clerk at the Army headquarters in Banjul.
Besides my work, I am a family man raising 4 of my children.
I also take care of some children who lack family support or whose family is so poor that they can’t take care of them.
I am also a chosen member of VDC (Village Development Committee) where i serve as the secretary, in addition with specific attention in the running and management of the Jambanjelly Health Center.
In 2005 we founded Children’s fund – the Gambia. We registered the foundation officially in Gambia at the Athorney General Chambers as a community based organisation (CBO).
During interaction with people in Jambanjelly I realised that most of the people are living (far) below the average life standard, especially woman and children.
Therefore, I decided to share my idea and concern with Harriëtte van Velsum, who I met several times in Jambanjelly. We decided to join hands in this.
Our goal is to help the children of Jambanjelly, to give them good foundation in education as well as giving them chances for the future for themselves and for their poor families.
We believe, a child with good foundation in education, can develop him-/herself to a steady and responsible adult, who can take care of him or her self as well as family socially and financially.
If you have any questions about the sponsored children, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
Kind regards,
Ebrima Nyassi
